The Capital Equipment Sales Representative, reporting to the Lindemann Metal Recycling Director Americas, is a Product Specialist responsible for generating sales activity for Lindemann Metal Recycling products within the North American market area. This Sales Representative will be capable of identifying and developing opportunities for capital equipment and expand the Lindemann installed base in North America.


Responsibilities include:

  • Through close collaboration with the products and service teams, analyze Lindemann’s market potential in the NAM market area for capital equipment in the recycling industries.
  • Achieve sales plan / performance and increase market share and number of accounts in assigned market area for annual sales volume by obtaining orders from end users.
  • Develop a clear understanding of market area activity, quotes and customer needs, and effectively communicate and document this information to management and product line personnel.
  • Establish and maintain a good company image within market area by providing exceptional service, a professional business attitude and up-to-date product knowledge to existing and potential accounts.
  • Actively pursue development of the designated sales market area including new applications and expansion into new markets.
  • With support of immediate supervisor evaluate reports and dashboards to make key business decisions
  • Provide timely follow-up and feedback of all proposals, maintaining a monthly open proposal report.
  • Function as local customer contact for information concerning Lindemann capital projects coordinating flow of information between project management and customer as needed.
  • Use the ISP (individual sales plan) as the major tool for business discussion and business development planning, tracking Results, Activities and Competencies as provided by the Americas Market Area Director
  • Provide quarterly forecasts for products as directed by the management team.
  • Work directly with the tools provided, such as SalesForce, etc – in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide timely submission of travel itineraries, call reports and competitor activity reports.
  • Demonstrate cooperative team effort within work group. Works effectively with other groups and departments. Demonstrate respect for others.
  • Possess depth of knowledge and skill required, needing little or no supervision.
  • Position requires good customer relation skills, ability to work within a team environment, mechanical aptitude, creativity, innovation, and ability to see the larger picture. Practices safe HSE at all times.
  • Perform other projects as assigned by management
  • Overnight travel (both domestic and international) may be required as needed
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing and/or Engineering discipline. Equivalent experience commensurate with the knowledge gained through completion of one of the above degrees will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in industry field sales.
  • Experience with Metal Recycling equipment is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of shears, balers, briquetters and their applications.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Highly motivated Teamplayer, self-starting individual with the ability to plan, organize, work under stress, meet deadlines and work independently is required.
  • Strong leadership and relationship building skills, a bias for action and detail-oriented behaviors are required.
  • Proficient in utilization of Microsoft Office and Salesforce
  • Capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time; organizing, prioritizing tasks, and working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Possesses strong communication, co-operation, interpersonal and presentation skills to manage internal and external interfaces.
  • Ability to travel, as required, up to 75% on a regular basis.
  • Must be physically able to climb onto structures, stairs, ladders, scaffolds, customer facilities, and industrial plants, inspect equipment for failure and process analysis and enter equipment access points.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
