Job description

The QEHS Manager provides support for the Parts Order Desk, Supply Chain, and Engineered-To-Order (ETO) Projects for all Quality Assurance requirements. This role implements and oversees internal Quality processes ensuring compliance with the corporate office in Germany. The QEHS Manager ensures that North American Operations is compliant for corporate and local standards regarding processes for health and safety.

Job requirements

Quality Process Management

  • Receives communication from Sales, Product Managers, Project Managers, and Warehouse Receiving on quality issues identified on parts and projects.
  • Creates and manages Quality Notifications in SAP including follow-up tasks and final disposition.
  • Performs root cause analysis and initiates actions, minimizing quality related costs.
  • Communicates with customers, colleagues, and vendors to research quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Audits new suppliers for capabilities, QMS requirements, HSE, availability of local QA and assess for approval status.
  • Conducts routine audits of suppliers, fabricators, and service providers ensuring Quality and HSE compliance.

Quality Inspections

  • Responsible for inspection of parts, including fabricated items, from Receiving and approves to transfer into Warehouse Inventory.
  • Responsible for supporting ETO Project Managers to ensure compliance in accordance with the governing contract specifications, including but not limited to Inspection Test Plans and Quality Inspection Witness Points.
  • Responsible for reviewing mechanical fabrication drawings to determine inspection plans throughout the manufacturing process including visual, dimensional, and specialized inspections including welds, paint/coating, lift points, etc.
  • Other projects, reporting, and duties as assigned.

Health and Safety

  • Supports Corporate health and safety directives for employees in San Antonio and employees working remotely.
  • Leads efforts in developing a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensures full compliance with current country legislation affecting health, safety, and the environment.
  • Investigates, reports, follows up and maintains all necessary paperwork for all accidents/incidents.
  • Analyzes all accidents and incidents to work towards a zero-incident target.
  • Position requires at least 25% travel.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience supporting Quality processes in business, fabrication, field service, and/or manufacturing.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in mechanical design and fabrication.
  • Equivalent experience and adequate knowledge gained above may be considered in lieu of an Engineering or Technical degree.
  • Proficient in utilization of Microsoft Office programs, IT tools, CRM (Salesforce) and ERP/integrated system (SAP).
  • Root cause analysis of mechanical system wear and failure preferred.
  • Sales experience including Inside Sales engineering/technical support a plus.
  • Experience with metal recycling equipment and processes a plus.
