Job description

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations while ensuring accurate, safe, and efficient handling of goods. This position plays a key leadership role in organizing workflows, driving team performance, and maintaining operational excellence. The ideal candidate must be highly organized, experienced in SAP, computer literate, and capable of leading by example in both productivity and compliance with OSHA and company standards.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for accurate and timely receiving of goods shipped into the warehouse operation.

  • Responsible for pulling and staging of parts as required by production orders released for pump assembly.

  • Consult with the Warehouse Supervisor to resolve any receiving/pulling issues discovered during assembly of pumps.

  • All work must be accomplished within quality and time/cost standard requirements established by the order and the company.  The warehouse is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.

  • The incumbent is responsible for insuring that all work is performed to the highest level of quality and safety.  

  • Position is responsible for tagging, packing, creating and loading of product as required by the production order and company procedure. 

  • Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required and directed by the Warehouse Supervisor. 

  • Utilize SAP for real-time inventory management, order processing, goods movement, and documentation

 

RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to Warehouse Supervisor, Metal Recycling

 

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL INTERFACES

  • Internal: Inside Sales, Finance, Engineering, Project Management, and Field Service

  • External: Freight forwarders

Under direction of supervisor

Job requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or vocational certification in logistics preferred.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of warehouse experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Proficient in SAP (WM, IM, or EWM modules preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Forklift operator with strong hands-on experience.

  • Strong understanding of warehouse workflows: picking, packing, staging, loading, and inventory control.

  •  Familiarity with freight booking platforms and logistics documentation.

  •  Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  •  Knowledge of OSHA standards and commitment to workplace safety practices.

 

 

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Requires the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.

  • Must have the knowledge and ability to operate overhead and jib cranes safely.

  • Must hold a valid state issued driver’s license for company forklift operation. 

  • Must have a high mechanical aptitude.

  • Incumbent must be highly skilled in the use of both hand and power tools used in the assembly of mechanical equipment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • This position requires the ability to work in a very physically demanding environment.  Must be able to stop, sit, bend, walk, climb and lift (normal 20 lbs./shop max. 50 lbs.) 

  • Must have the stamina to work extended hours. Requires the ability to work in a variety of environments that may include exposure to heat, cold, humidity, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, loud noise and all types of weather conditions.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Visual acuity is required to read and produce accurate materials.

  • Use of keyboards, telephones, copiers, fax as required.
